M 31 Andromeda Galaxy

The Andromeda galaxy is in the constellation Andromeda.  It is the closest galaxy to our Milky Way galaxy, 2.5 million light years.  Scientists believe in the two galaxies will collide in 4 to 5 billion years.  The Andromeda galaxy is visible to the in the night sky with binoculars. This image was captured in my backyard with a telescope and dedicated astrophotography camera.

ZWO Electronic Automatic Focuser

Antila L, R, G, B, filters and Antila 3nm Ha filter

ZWO AM5 Mount

Imaging data:

Lights: L, R, G, B 60 × 5 minute exposures for each filter,

Darks: 30 × 5 minutes exposures

Flats and Dark Flats:  100 exposures
